The corner bet is a bet on a combination of four numbers. Gamblers place the stake on the corner of the boxes of the four different numbers, like the following combination:

Gamblers can place the corner bet by placing their stake on the intersecting lines between the four numbers. A total of 22 different combinations can be bet on.


The line bet is similar to the street bet as the gambler will place a bet on two rows of numbers, instead of the street bet’s one. These numbers are the following:

  • 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
  • 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

The bet is placed in a way similar to that of the street bet, except that the bet is placed on the intersecting line to cover two rows.


The basket bet or “first four” bet is a bet covering 0, 1, 2, and 3 and is placed similarly to how the Line bet is placed. This bet is exclusive to roulette tables without a double zero.

Five-Number Bet

The five-number bet is nearly the same as the basket bet, except that the bet also covers the double zero. This bet is exclusive to American Roulette tables.

Outside Bets

Outside bets are roulette bets on selections outside the rectangle where the numbers representing the pockets in the wheel are. The different outside bets are the following:

  • Red or Black – a bet on the winning number’s color, excluding green zeros
  • Odd or Even – a bet on whether the winning number is odd or even
  • 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 – a bet on whether the winning number is low, within 1 to 18, high, or within 19 to 36
  • Dozens – a bet on whether the winning number is within the 1st 12, or 1 to 12, 2nd 12, or 13, 24, or 3rd 12, or 25 to 36.
  • Columns – a bet on which of the three columns the winning number will be

Final Bet

A final bet is a bet that covers all the numbers that have the final digit bet on. Two Final bets are available in most roulette tables, which are the Finale En Plein and the Finale A Cheval. 

Finale En Plein

Finale En Plain is a straight-up Final bet where betting on a final digit means betting on all numbers having the final digit. For example, betting on Final 4 means betting on the following numbers: 4, 14, 24, 34

Betting on Final 9 means betting on the following numbers: 9, 19, 29

Finale A Cheval

Finale A Cheval is a split Final bet where betting on two final digits means placing a split bet on all numbers having the final digits.

For example, betting on Final 6|9 means betting on the following: 6|9, 16|19, 26|29

Betting on Final 0|3 means betting on the following: 0|3, 10|13, 20|23, 30|33

Complete Bet

A complete bet is a bet where gamblers place all the inside bets on a specific number. One chip is placed per number covered, so a straight-up bet takes one chip while a split takes two chips. An example of a complete bet on 23 takes the form of the table below:

Tiers du Cylindre translates to “thirds of the wheel” and this bet covers the twelve numbers on the opposite side of the wheel. This bet covers 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33, consisting of one chip each on 5|8, 10|11, 13|16, 23|24, 27|30, and 33|36 splits.
